Your practice stays yours.

In short
- Everything you enter stays on your iPhone, in your own iCloud, or in Apple Health.
- There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising.
- The app sends us nothing. We only see the anonymous, aggregated reports Apple gives every developer.
- If you join the waitlist on this website, we keep your email address only to tell you about early access and launch.
This policy explains how the Sadhana iPhone app (“the app”) and this website handle information. Sadhana is made by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). We built it so that your practice, your journal and your moods remain private, and the simplest way to keep something private is never to collect it.
What the app stores, and where
- On your iPhone: your practices, sadhana logs, notes, journal entries, mood and day-focus entries, and mandalas with their full history. This data is stored only on your device.
- In Apple Health, only if you allow it: meditation time as Mindful Minutes, asana practice as yoga workouts, and mood check-ins as State of Mind. The app may also read related Health data, such as sleep, to give your entries context. You choose exactly what to share in Health's own permission screen, and you can change it at any time in Settings. Health data read by the app is never sent anywhere and is never used for advertising.
- In your iCloud Drive, only when you make a backup: a single backup file you can restore on a new device signed into the same Apple ID. It sits in your iCloud account, under Apple's protection. We cannot see or access it.
What we never do
- We don't run a server, and the app doesn't send your data to us or to anyone else.
- We don't include analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party SDKs of any kind.
- We don't ask you to create an account or give us your name, email address or phone number.
- We never sell, rent or share personal data, because we never have it.
What Apple shares with us
Like every developer on the App Store, we receive some information from Apple through App Store Connect. This information is collected by Apple, under Apple's Privacy Policy, not by the app:
- Sales and download reports, such as how many people downloaded the app, by country and by day.
- App Analytics, such as aggregated counts of installs, sessions and deletions. Apple only includes people who have chosen to share analytics with app developers, and the reports never identify anyone.
- Crash reports and diagnostics, if you have turned on “Share with App Developers” in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. These contain technical details about a crash, not the content of your entries.
- Ratings and reviews you choose to post publicly on the App Store.
We use this information only to understand whether the app is working well and to fix problems. You can control what Apple shares through your iPhone's privacy settings.
Your control and your rights
Because your data lives on your devices, you already hold it all. You can view, change or delete any entry in the app at any time.
- On your iPhone: deleting the app removes everything it stored there.
- In iCloud: backups can be removed from Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage.
- In Apple Health: data written by Sadhana can be reviewed and deleted in the Health app, and access can be turned off in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
The only personal information we ever hold is a waitlist email address, if you chose to give us one. You can ask us to delete it at any time, as described below. Wherever you live, including under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, we never sell your personal information.
Children
The app isn't designed for young children. As it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.
The waitlist
The waitlist on this website is the one place where we ask for anything. If you join, we store:
- your email address,
- whether you asked to try early builds through TestFlight, and
- the date you joined.
We use it only to email you about early access and the app's launch. If you asked for TestFlight, we may use your email address to send you an invitation through Apple's TestFlight service. We never sell or share it, and we never use it for advertising. It is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare. It is kept until the app has launched and the waitlist is no longer needed, and then deleted.
You can leave at any time: reply to any email we send and ask to be removed, and we will delete your address. Joining the waitlist has nothing to do with the app itself; the app never knows whether you joined.
This website
Apart from the waitlist form, this site has no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process basic technical information, such as IP addresses, in order to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse, under Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Links to other websites, such as a quote's original source, are governed by those sites' own policies.
Changes to this policy
If the way Sadhana handles information ever changes, this page will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date at the top will change with it. If a change means the app starts collecting anything, we will say so clearly in the app as well.
