A few simple terms.
Last updated 5 October 2026
In short
- Sadhana is a personal journal for your practice. It is not a teacher, a doctor or a substitute for either.
- Your data lives on your devices, so keeping it backed up is in your hands.
- The app is offered as it is, with care, but without guarantees.
These terms apply to the Sadhana iPhone app (“the app”) and this website, made by an independent developer (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
The app is licensed to you under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms add to that agreement. Where the two differ, Apple's agreement applies.
What the app is for
Sadhana helps you keep a personal record of your spiritual and wellbeing practice: what you did, how it went, the commitments you take on, and how you feel. It is a tool for reflection. It doesn't teach any practice, and it isn't connected to any spiritual organisation, tradition or teacher.
Practise with care
Yoga, breathwork, meditation, fasting and similar practices can affect your body and mind. Please learn them from a qualified teacher, and talk to a doctor before you begin if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or have any doubt about your health.
Nothing in the app or on this website is medical, psychological or professional advice. Mood check-ins and other entries are for your own reflection; they are not a diagnosis. If you are struggling or in crisis, please reach out to a medical professional or a local emergency service.
You decide what, when and how much to practise, and you are responsible for those choices. Commitments such as mandalas are yours to take on, and yours to pause if your health or circumstances call for it.
Your data
Everything you enter is stored on your device, in your own iCloud Drive if you make a backup, and in Apple Health if you allow it. We never have access to it, so we cannot recover lost data for you. Making and keeping backups is your responsibility. How we handle information is described in full in our Privacy Policy.
Apple Health and iCloud are services provided by Apple and are governed by Apple's own terms.
Using the app fairly
The app is for your personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, modify, resell or redistribute it, or try to reverse engineer it, except where the law allows you to.
Ownership
The app, its design, text and artwork belong to us. Your entries belong to you. Quotations from other people belong to their respective owners, are shared with gratitude, and link to their original source; they don't mean those people or their organisations endorse Sadhana.
No guarantees
We build Sadhana with care, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we can't guarantee that it will always be available, free of errors, or suited to a particular purpose, and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the app or this website. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the consumer laws of the place you live that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update the app, and we may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated terms.
Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
